Market Snapshot for September 9, 2012

In the past year, if you haven’t realized it, real estate in the Greater Louisville area, Southern Indiana area, and Elizabethtown area has really improved.  While there was an excess inventory of homes for sale last year, now the numbers have really evened out.  There is an ample supply of homes for sale, but also a nearly equal amount of buyers who are looking for their next home.

Here are some details about the current real estate inventory:

  • There are currently 2,101 unsold residential listings on the market in the Southern Indiana area.
  • The average list price for homes for sale in the Greater Louisville area is $226,398.
  • The Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox real estate market has 9.4 months of inventory.
